Ghost Ride the Pikachu Whip

Saw this today. Thank god I had my camera with me.

New Workout Plan

Do you work out? I think all the smoking has given me a case of the black lung. It's sometimes hard for me to walk distances of moderate length (segway rental service please). I need to start hitting the gym or doing some sort of physical activity soon cause I find myself devolving into a bed potato.

I can barely run a mile so I think I'm gonna start with the elliptical. Maybe later I'll try some gymnastics. Back flips are easy peasy.

By the way, I'm officially officially quitting smoking before I move. Maybe before that if I can muster up enough will power.

Here's a list of bands (and dates) that I want to see in Austin before I move (sad times, I know):

7.16 - The Glitch Mob at Aces Lounge
7.17 - Vega at Club DeVille
7.22 - Men at Beauty Bar
8.4 - M. Ward at Antone's; Barcelona at Emo's

Anyhoodles, I only recently added Men to the list after finding out that 2 of the 3 band members are from Le Tigre (who I lurve). I feel like the namesake of the band was maybe JD Samson's idea...just a thought. I've never seen Le Tigre live (though I would like to) but I did see JD at FunFunFun Fest circa 2007. She was one of Peaches' guitarists and only towards the end of the show did I realize (1) she was not a dude and (2) she was JD Samson.

Point. Shoot.

Just came back from the Fader party at Speakeasy featuring:

Major Lazer
DJ A-Trak (Kanye's DJ) -- saw twice at SXSW
DJ AM
Matt & Kim -- saw at Cut Copy show. not that good.

Evaluation: Extremely crowded, obnoxious people, and a jenky-ass AC system cause it was hot as balls. Overall though, it was a good show. Enjoyed it much.

Of course, everyone was taking pictures like crazy (including myself). What I hate is when you're caught in the background of other people's pictures. Usually you're in the middle of a sentence or just making an awkward face for no reason (I do this a lot). Whatever it may be, you always come out looking unattractive. These pictures then end up on Facebook where everyone can see your unattractive self. And since you probably don't know the person (and therefore are not virtual friends with them), you never know about this pic and you can never see just how unattractive you look. Sucks. Hate that.

Example. Not a great one but it'll do (see guy in maroon-ish shirt):

On another note, here's some Major Lazer to help you dance yourself to sleep tonight.

I got king kong in the trunk.

Pretty close to the top of my bucket list is attending a real rap concert. And I don't mean a "rap" concert where most of the crowd is white and lightly peppered with a few black people and the occasional asian. I mean a rap concert where everyone is thuggin' hard and someone will be "making it rain" (hopefully in greater denominations than George Washingtons).

I really wanted to go to the Dallas K104 Summer Jam show last year (headlined by Lil' Wayne), but tickets were something ridiculous like $90. R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S. But I will soon be making career woman monies so that's a non-issue. I'm hoping to cross this goal/aspiration off my list in DC...it's a popular destination for rappers, right?

Some people I would like to see (in no particular order):
1. T.I.
2. Lil' Wayne
3. T-Pain
4. Ying Yang Twins
5. Spank Rock (does this count?)
6. Akon (shut up, you know this would be a good concert)
7. Ludacris

As the Ying Yang Twins would say, "HANH?!"

"For sale: baby shoes, never worn."

You might have made me hate assigned readings in high school (I'm sorry but I don't understand the "deeper" meaning of The Old Man and the Sea or believe that there is even a deeper meaning), but Ernest Hemingway you got me on this six word memoirs thing. It's like super-condensed PostSecret.

I still make coffee for two.
After Harvard, had baby with crackhead.
She said she was negative. Damn.
Red-eye. Him window. Me aisle. Love.

I'm embarrassed to admit that the last non-school assigned book I read was the final Harry Potter installment. So I decided today to try and get back into self-education and "reading for fun." Stopped by the B&N and this little gem caught my eye.

Threw down $16.24 and took it home with me.
