In a totally unrelated story, yesterday I went dt cause my bff is in town and also because VEGA was playing at Club de Ville. I had tentatively planned on meeting a friend at the show, but she got a little too crunk too early (it happens) and it was also her friend's 21st (she's kind of popular). But I decided to go anyways (cause I'm hardcore like that) and stayed for all of about 15 minutes. It just got too awkward. I don't understand how some people can go to shows alone. They must (1) lurve the band a lot a lot, (2) be so self-confident that it just doesn't bother them or (3) are so drunk they don't even notice they're alone. I was none of the above. Hence the awkward.

Here is my thought process and the events of last night:
(Enter Nancy at Club de Ville)
"Ok I'll go to the bathroom and that'll take up some time."
Goes to bathroom.
"I guess I'll wander around through the crowd and see if I know anyone here...yeah probably won't know anyone here."
Walks outside and looks around.
"Where should I stand? In the back? Should I join this group of people dancing? Would they accept me? I think that's a guy I dated sophomore year...should I talk to him? Would that be awkward? Why am I so awkward?"
Stands in the back by the chairs and starts texting.
"Fuck I'm awkward."
Leaves.

Afterwards I moseyed on over to Red Eyed Fly to meet back up with bff and crew to watch a friend's band, The Savages play. They're all dudes by the way. They just wear dresses and have long hair.



I need to get the fuck out of Austin.
